Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kita ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our desktop application and website at kitahub.site.

The short version: your work files stay on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. We collect only the minimum account and usage data needed to run your account and process payments, and payment details are handled entirely by our payment partner, Paddle.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

Account data — your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password, if you create an account.
Usage and credits data — your credit balance, purchase history, and a record of when automation tools are run, used to operate the credits system and provide support.
Chat content you submit — if you use the AI-assisted chat to create or modify an automation tool, the text (and any files you explicitly attach) you send in that conversation is transmitted to our AI processing providers in order to generate a response. See Section 3 below.
Payment data — handled directly by Paddle; we receive only confirmation that a purchase was completed and never see your full card number.

We do not collect or upload the working files (spreadsheets, PDFs, documents, etc.) that your automation tools process on your device, unless you deliberately attach them to a chat message.

2. How We Use Your Data

To create and maintain your account;
To operate the credits system, including granting, tracking, and deducting credits;
To process purchases and refunds through Paddle;
To respond to support requests; and
To detect and prevent abuse of the Service.

3. AI Processing

When you use chat-based features, the message content and any attachments you choose to send are transmitted to third-party AI service providers in order to generate a response or automation tool. These providers process the content solely to fulfill your request and are bound by their own data handling terms. We recommend avoiding sharing sensitive personal data in chat messages that isn't necessary for the task at hand.

4. Payment Data

All credit purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, acting as merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes payment information (such as card details and billing address) directly, under its own privacy policy. We only receive order confirmation data (such as the package purchased and order status) needed to credit your account.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or support obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at leesin@kitahub.site; we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Children's Privacy

Kita is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
